Anand was directed by Bollywood's most experienced director Hrishikesh Mukherjee which was released in 1971. This movie took place in the Times of India 25 must see Bollywood films. Amitabh Bachchan appeared as a doctor. Rajesh Khanna played the title role Anand, a cancer patient.
This movie shows the life value and how to live happily and some other moral values about human life. Shah Rukh Khan's Kal Ho Naa Ho was inspired by this movie only. In 2005 Tollywood director Krishna Vamsi released a film called Chakram with the same concept. Asin, Prabhas and Charmee played the lead roles in that movie.
Salil Chaudhary gave music for Anand. Gulzar penned the dialogues. These dialogues are still fame.
