Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay 's Devdas is a great novel which reveals a heart broken lover's life and his death. The lead role of this novel Devdas has death but no death for this novel. This novel touched the silver screen many times. Every time the audience felt this deep love.
Once again this novel came to theatres as Devdas in 2002 under Sanjay Leela Bansali's direction. Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai were paired together in the lead roles.
Madhuri Dixit appeared in an important role. So many people criticised and opposed Sanjay for his decision. But all those people praised him after the release of this movie. It bagged 10 Filmfare awards, 5 Star screen awards and 4 IIFA awards.
Rocking songs, heart touching dialogues and live feel scenes mesmerised people. Ismail Darbar and Monty Sharma composed music for this movie. Prakash Kapadia penned the dialogues.
