Sholay Dialogues

Sholay is a evergreen Indian movie. It was released in 1975 it established Amitabh Bachchan as a Superstar in Bollywood. It gave the best villain Amjad Khan to Indian screen. Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan also starred in this movie.

Director Ramesh Sippy took care about each shot. Chambal Valley is the back drop for this movie. But most of the scenes to represent the village in Chambal were shot in a village called Ramnagaram near Bangalore ,Karnataka

According to that place they created the costumes and characters. This dialogues were also based on the dialect of the Chambal Valley people. The dialogues in this movie were very simple but situational. These situational dialogues attracted people very much. Not only the lead characters but the villain character dialogues were also very good.

The villain character Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan)'s dialogue "Arre O Samba" is very famous.

And some funny dialogues are there like -Link

"Tumhaaraa naam kya hai, Basanti ?" Veeru (Dharmendra) asks heroine Basanti (Hema Malini).

"Dhe idhar jaao, aadhe udhar jaao, baaki mere peeche aao".

And some powerful dialogues are there like -

"Jo darr Gaya, samjho woh marr gaya".

"Kitne aadmi the?"

These are just a few examples from Sholay dialogues which connect strongly. All these dialogues are penned by Javed Akthar (father of present famous director Farhan Akthar) and Salim Khan.
